  I apologize for the downtime
Posted by: Striker - 04-11-2013, 04:04 PM - Forum: News - Replies (2)

Sorry that the TF2 Servers have been down for the last few days. There's a reason for this. Valve's transition to the SteamPipe system has lead to some major incompatibility with SourceMod between the different servers.

(I share one SourceMod copy between all games, to save a lot of time and effort, so the mix of games that use SteamPipe and the ones that do not have lead to some games breaking. Namely, TF2 and CSS.)

So, in the meantime, the only server that is running is the HL2DM one. Feel free to hang out in that server until everything gets resolved.

  The forums' Mailserver should be fixed now.
Posted by: Striker - 04-04-2013, 01:05 AM - Forum: News - Replies (2)

Users of Hotmail and GMail should now be able to receive activation e-mails when they register to the forums now. It may still show in the spam box, but at least it shouldn't be completely blocked.

Thanks for your patience while I've been ripping my quills out trying to resolve this issue.

  Should I migrate the CSS Server to CS:Go?
Posted by: Striker - 04-02-2013, 01:19 AM - Forum: News - Replies (6)

I'm wondering if I should move the CSS Server over to CS:GO... But, I'm a little cautious. Reason being, it isn't quite as moddable as CSS, but the game itself is better.

I'd need to sacrifice a lot of things, namely:

* Player Models
* Poison Smoke Grenades
* The current custom maps
* The Sonic Model w/ Ring Death
* Custom pain/death voices
* Hit Markers
* Gore Mod
* Hentai Decals

Things I'd be able to keep:

* Grenade Damage Boost
* Knife Boost
* Deathmatch Gameplay
* Regular Decals

Things I'd be able to add:

* Tripmines
* The ability to use CS:GO's new weapons
* Packages (Speed, Grenades, Health on Kill)

  Body and Head Resizing are back. (TF2 Server)
Posted by: Striker - 02-26-2013, 12:49 AM - Forum: News - No Replies

I just added the "Resize Players" plugin on the TF2 Server again. It will be enabled for all donators on Casual maps.

The console command for resizing your head is sm_resizemyhead.
The console command for resizing your body is sm_resizeme

  Be The Robot is back

I've finally re-implemented the "Be The Robot" plugin on the [SM] TF2 Server. Should be good to go now!

  This is very important to everyone, please read it.

As some of you have known, there's been a lot of drama and bad blood between SMR, SM, dOPtro, myself, and the people within said groups.

I want to finally put all this to rest. It's dragged on far too long... In fact, it should have never happened to begin with. I want anyone and everyone in SMR to read this discussion, as it will hopefully educate everyone, and put this nonsense to an end.

Comment is appreciated, but please keep it civil. Any disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

Sealed Chamber (From Cave Story)
Click Clock Wood (From Banjo-Kazooie)

Have fun!

  Working out some bugs
Posted by: Striker - 01-14-2013, 12:56 PM - Forum: News - No Replies

For some reason, the Time and Date keep going out of sync on the VPS... I think I have it fixed now, but as you may notice, posts from today are saying "January 15th" when it should've been "14th", yesterday 14th when it should have been 13th, etc.

This affects the ordering of threads on the forum, as well as the order of which sprays show up here: http://www.shadowmavericks.com/sprays/

Give it about a day, and it should correct itself on it's own.

Finally, I've begun to establish new forums for the Shadow Mavericks community. As you probably can tell, this is running on our server network, and seems to be working quite well!

The benefit of being able to run this ourselves now, gives the opportunity to mod the forum as we please, adding new features/etc.

Things are obviously a work in progress as of this post, but feel free to start some conversation!
